7 Lovable Alternatives, Compared on Price, Stack and Code Access
By Manob Editorial ·

The right Lovable alternative depends on why you're leaving. Bolt.new feels closest and lets you pick a JavaScript framework. v0 builds in Next.js. Replit runs other languages, including Python. Base44 includes a backend on every plan. Bubble keeps you in a visual editor, Cursor puts you in your own repo, and manob.ai pairs an AI workspace with a template marketplace.
Lovable today: the baseline
Here's what Lovable offers as of October 2026, from its pricing page and plan documentation, checked on October 14:
- Free: 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus a monthly grant of 20 Cloud credits and 4 credits for AI features in your app. Free projects can sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket. Editing code inside Lovable, downloading the codebase, custom domains and removing the "Edit with Lovable" badge all need a paid plan.
- Pro: $25 a month for 100 credits, or $250 a year ($21 a month). Larger credit tiers cost more.
- Business: $50 a month for 100 credits. It adds single sign-on, role-based access and the Lovable API.
- How credits are spent: a message costs what the task costs. Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits for "Make the button gray" to 1.20 for adding sign-up and login, and 1.70 for a landing page with generated images. Unused monthly plan credits expire two months after they're issued.
- Stack: apps created from May 13, 2026 use TanStack Start; older ones use React and Vite. The database is PostgreSQL, through Lovable Cloud or Supabase. Lovable's FAQ says it "does not offer a choice of framework or database", and you can't start a project from an existing repository.
Why people look for a Lovable alternative
- You need a different stack. Next.js, a Python backend or a framework other than React isn't an option inside Lovable.
- You want to start from code you already have. Lovable creates a new repository from each project and won't import yours.
- Your budget is hard to plan. Credit cost depends on the size of each change, so you only learn a month's real cost by building.
- You'd rather not see code at all. Some people want a visual editor where every screen and workflow stays clickable.
- You want your own editor from day one. Developers often prefer an AI agent working in a repo they control.
Lovable alternatives at a glance
Prices and limits come from each company's own pricing page and were checked on October 14, 2026. Credits, tokens and AI Energy are different units, so the free allowances don't compare one to one.
| Tool | Pick it for | Free plan | Paid from | Stack or output |

The 7 alternatives, one by one
1. Bolt.new: closest to Lovable, with framework choice
Bolt works the way Lovable does. You describe the app, it writes the code, and a live preview updates beside the chat. The difference is the stack. Bolt's supported technologies page says it supports "any JavaScript framework that runs on the frontend" and Node.js for the backend, but not PHP or Python. Mobile apps go through Expo, and data lives in Bolt Cloud or Supabase.
Bolt's pricing as of October 2026: the free plan includes 300,000 tokens a day and 1 million a month, private projects, website hosting and unlimited databases, with Bolt branding on your site. Pro costs $25 a month billed monthly, starts at 10 million tokens with no daily limit, adds custom domains and removes the branding. Unused paid tokens roll over for one extra month. One thing to plan for: Bolt says most token use comes from syncing your project's files to the AI, so each message costs more as the project grows. We cover the options for Bolt users in Bolt.new alternatives.
2. v0: when you want Next.js
v0 is Vercel's builder. Its FAQ says it "uses Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui", which Lovable won't give you. If you already own a Next.js template, or plan to buy one from a roundup like our React and Next.js templates, v0's output will look familiar to whoever maintains it.
On v0's pricing page, the free plan includes deploys to Vercel, visual edits in Design Mode, GitHub sync and a limit of 7 messages a day. Plus costs $30 per user a month and includes $30 of monthly credits per user, plus $2 of free credits each day you log in. Usage is billed by tokens at published model rates, from $0.20 per million input tokens on v0 Mini up to $10 on v0 Max Fast.
3. Replit: when you need another language
Replit's docs say it "supports all programming languages through integration with Nix" (dependency docs). That's the main reason to choose it over Lovable. If your app needs a Python backend, a data script or a library that only exists outside JavaScript, Replit can run it.
The free Starter plan gives daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap. It only allows Lite build, and you get one free published app, which goes offline after 30 days and carries a "Made with Replit" badge. External connectors such as Stripe and Google need Core. On Replit's pricing page, Core is $20 a month, or $18 billed yearly, and includes $20 of credit toward more powerful models. Pro is $100 a month ($90 billed yearly), with up to 15 collaborators and database rollback up to 28 days. See Replit alternatives if you're comparing it head to head.
4. Base44: a backend included on every plan
Base44's pricing page says every plan includes an "integrated backend and database system", so you don't connect a database service yourself. The free plan has 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month. Starter is $16 a month billed yearly, with 100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits and the option to connect a domain (with a free domain for the first year). GitHub integration starts on Builder, at $40 a month billed yearly. Base44 also says third-party services you connect, such as Stripe or OpenAI, bill you directly.
5. Bubble: if you'd rather stay visual
Bubble's AI app builder generates an app from a prompt that you then "Edit 100% visually", from page design to backend logic. It also builds "true native iOS and Android apps" from the same editor and publishes to both app stores. That's a different trade from Lovable's: you can see and click every workflow, but you're working inside Bubble's editor, not a codebase you take elsewhere.
Bubble's pricing as of October 2026: the free plan is a development version with one app editor and 50,000 workload units a month. A live app on your own domain needs a paid plan, starting with Starter at $59 a month billed yearly (175,000 workload units). Our no-code app builder comparison sets Bubble against Glide, Softr, Adalo and FlutterFlow.
6. Cursor: if you'll work in the code yourself
Cursor calls itself "your coding agent for building ambitious software", with a desktop app and a command-line tool. It works on any repository you open, including one you exported from Lovable through Git sync. Its pricing page doesn't list app hosting or a database, so plan for those separately.
The pricing page lists a free plan with limited agent requests, then Plus at $8 a month, on which "only Grok models are available". Premium costs $30 a month for four times Plus's usage. Third-party models are available from Premium up and are billed separately at API list price.
7. manob.ai (our own platform): AI building next to a template marketplace
manob.ai is the site you're reading, so weigh this entry with that in mind. Its AI workspace has an AI chat, an agentic code editor, a cloud sandbox with live preview, and deploy. The plans, as of October 13, 2026 (pricing):
- Starter, $0: 1,000 AI Energy a month, the AI chat and agentic code editor, the cloud sandbox, 13 starter templates and deploy.
- Builder, $12 a month: 25,000 AI Energy, full-stack builds with an API, database and auth, a custom domain and marketplace listings.
- Pro, $24 a month: 80,000 AI Energy, freelancer marketplace access and priority support.
- Business, $49 a month: 200,000 AI Energy, team and agency capacity and a named contact.
What's different is the rest of the account. The same login reaches a marketplace of more than 600 themes and templates you can preview before buying, and Manob-compatible themes can be edited with the AI in the workspace. The same marketplace sells freelance services, if you'd rather hire someone to finish what the AI started. Where Lovable is ahead: it documents its stack, Git sync and code download in detail, and manob.ai's plan list doesn't name a framework, Git sync or code export. If any of those decides it for you, check before you build.
Which Lovable alternative is cheapest?
By entry price for a paid plan, as of October 2026:
- Cursor Plus: $8 a month, but limited to Grok models
- manob.ai Builder: $12 a month
- Base44 Starter: $16 a month billed yearly
- Replit Core: $18 a month billed yearly, or $20 monthly
- Lovable Pro: $21 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly
- Bolt.new Pro: $25 a month
- v0 Plus: $30 per user a month
- Bubble Starter: $59 a month billed yearly
Sticker price misleads here, because each tool meters usage in its own unit. A cheaper plan that burns through its allowance in a week ends up costing more. The fair test is to build the same small feature, say a sign-up form that saves to a database, on two free plans and see how much of each allowance it uses. If you're still deciding what to build first, our guide on how to build an AI app walks through scoping it.
When to stay on Lovable
- React and PostgreSQL suit you. If the fixed stack fits, you skip choosing and wiring one.
- You want Git sync on the free plan. Lovable syncs to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan, so your code is never trapped.
- You build with a team. Every plan allows unlimited workspace members sharing one credit pool, and Business adds single sign-on and role-based access.
- You like knowing what a prompt costs. Lovable publishes example prompts with their credit cost, so you can estimate before you build.
Whichever builder you use, the hosting and domain steps come at the end. Our guides to connecting a domain and SaaS website templates cover the pages most app launches also need.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best free alternative to Lovable?
It depends on what you build. As of October 2026, Bolt.new's free plan has 1 million tokens a month with hosting, v0's allows 7 messages a day, Base44's has 25 message credits a month, and manob.ai's Starter plan has 1,000 AI Energy a month.
Is Bolt.new better than Lovable?
Neither is better across the board. Bolt lets you choose a JavaScript framework and includes hosting and databases on its free plan. Lovable has a fixed React and PostgreSQL stack, Git sync on every plan and published credit costs per prompt.
Can I move a Lovable project to another tool?
Yes. Git sync works on any plan, and paid plans can download the codebase as a .zip. The database is exported separately, and Lovable says that export leaves out stored files, Edge Function code and secrets.
Can Lovable build a Next.js app?
No. Lovable's FAQ says every project uses the same stack, TanStack Start or React with Vite, and that it doesn't offer a choice of framework. v0 is the closest builder that produces Next.js.
Which Lovable alternative builds mobile apps?
Bubble builds native iOS and Android apps from its visual editor. Bolt.new builds mobile apps through Expo, and Replit's Agent builds web and mobile apps.
