11 React and Next.js Templates, Compared by Stack

A good React template states its exact stack (React version, router, TypeScript, styling and build tool) and ships clean components you can extend. We checked every React and Next.js item on Manob, confirmed each demo actually runs React, and kept 11. Tripura and Banca list the newest front-end stacks: React 19 on Next.js 16 and 15.

React or Next.js: which template do you need?

"React template" covers three different things, and the difference decides where and how you'll host the site.

  • React single-page apps (usually Vite plus React Router) render in the browser. They're simple to host as static files and feel like an app, but search engines and link previews see less until the JavaScript runs. Good for dashboards, directories and portfolios where SEO is secondary.
  • Next.js front-end templates add file-based routing and render pages on the server or at build time. Pages arrive as HTML, which is better for marketing sites, blogs and docs. Some can be exported as fully static files.
  • Full-stack Next.js templates add a backend, database and admin panel. You get a working product, but you also need Node hosting and a database, and you're responsible for security updates.

Before shortlisting, we opened every demo and checked its source for React or Next.js, since a listing title alone isn't proof. One item we dropped lists jQuery in its feature list even though its demo runs on Next.js; ask sellers what's actually in the download when the two disagree.

What to check in a React template

  • React and Next.js versions. React 19 and recent Next.js releases change some APIs. A template on React 18 or Next.js 14 still works, but upgrading later is your job. Eight of these 11 state their versions on the listing; Docy, Frame & Light and Galactic don't.
  • Router. In Next.js, look for the App Router (Banca, Tripura, Landpagy, Trendexa, NexaByte). In a Vite app, React Router v7 is current (Edifice, Liston).
  • TypeScript. Seven of the 11 list TypeScript: Banca, Tripura, Landpagy, Trendexa, Edifice, NexaByte and Zestora. If your team writes TypeScript, converting a JavaScript template is tedious.
  • Styling approach. Tailwind (Tripura, Trendexa, Frame & Light, Zestora), Bootstrap 5 (Edifice with SCSS, Galactic), SCSS on its own (Landpagy) or both Bootstrap and Tailwind (Liston). Pick the one your team already uses; mixing systems makes customization slower.
  • Build tool. Next.js brings its own. For single-page apps, Vite is the standard choice now. Avoid anything built on Create React App, which the React team deprecated for new apps in February 2025.
  • Where content lives. Static JSON (Edifice), markdown files (Frame & Light) or a database with an admin (NexaByte, Zestora). This decides who can edit the site after launch.
  • Check the demo yourself. View the demo's page source. Paths starting with /_next/ mean Next.js; a near-empty page with a single root div means a client-rendered React app.
  • Dependencies after download. Run npm outdated and npm audit on day one, so you know what needs updating before you build on it.

When an HTML template is enough

If your site is a handful of pages with no logins, carts or dashboards, React adds a build step and dependencies you'll have to maintain. A plain HTML template is cheaper to host and easier to hand to someone else. Our HTML5 templates and Bootstrap 5 templates roundups cover those. If you want React without starting from a template, Manob's AI workspace has a free Starter plan with an AI chat, an agentic code editor, a cloud sandbox with live preview and deploy, and the Builder plan adds full-stack builds with an API, database and auth.

Licensing: Regular or Extended

A Regular License covers a single end product whose end users aren't charged, such as a company site or a client's marketing site. If end users pay for the product you build, such as a subscription app built on a full-stack template, you need the Extended License. Neither license lets you redistribute the source as-is, so you can't publish the template's code in a public repository or resell it as a starter. Extended License prices vary a lot between these listings, so compare both prices before you buy. Every purchase includes 6 months of seller support through Manob's built-in ticket system, and you can extend it at 30% before it expires or renew at 75% after.

When to look elsewhere

  • You want it free. Manob's templates are paid, priced by sellers from $9 to $93 across the catalog. Vercel's Next.js starter templates gallery includes free, open-source starters.
  • You need a pure admin dashboard. Liston, NexaByte and Zestora include admin screens tied to their own use case, but none is a general-purpose admin template.
  • You want a design first. If the design isn't settled, start in Figma. See our Figma UI kits roundup.
  • You want a developer portfolio. Frame & Light and Edifice can be adapted, but our portfolio website templates roundup has more personal options.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a React template and a Next.js template?

A React template is usually a single-page app that renders in the browser. A Next.js template is a React app inside the Next.js framework, which adds routing and server or build-time rendering, so pages arrive as HTML.

Are there free React templates?

Yes. Vercel's template gallery and many open-source projects offer free React and Next.js starters. The templates in this roundup are paid and include 6 months of seller support.

Is a React template good for SEO?

A Next.js template that renders on the server or at build time is good for SEO because pages arrive as HTML. A client-rendered React single-page app is weaker for SEO unless you add prerendering.

Which React template is best for a portfolio?

Frame & Light suits a portfolio with a blog because content lives in markdown. Edifice suits a portfolio with many gallery layouts and no backend.

Do these templates use TypeScript?

Seven of the 11 list TypeScript: Banca, Tripura, Landpagy, Trendexa, Edifice, NexaByte and Zestora. The others don't say, so ask the seller.

Where should I host a Next.js template?

A statically exported Next.js site can go on any static host. Templates that use server rendering, API routes or a database need a Node host, and the full-stack ones also need MySQL or PostgreSQL.
