Photography HTML templates
An HTML template is a folder of static files. It loads fast, costs little to host and has no plugins to update, which suits a portfolio that changes a few times a year. The trade-off is that each new gallery means editing code, and a contact form needs a script or form service behind it before it sends anything. The Next.js deployment docs list a Node.js server, a Docker container, a static export or a platform adapter, and a static export drops features that need a server. How to choose a photography website template
- A format you'll keep up. HTML means editing files, a kit or theme gives you the WordPress dashboard, and Frame and Light needs a Next.js developer. Our guide to HTML templates vs WordPress themes weighs the first two.
- Galleries that filter. If you shoot weddings and portraits, visitors want to jump to one. Lumiere and Foxden filter with Isotope, and Frame and Light lists filterable sections. Wildlife lists masonry, grid and carousel views, so check its demo for filters.
- A lightbox that works on a phone. Open a photo in each demo on your phone, swipe to the next one and close it. Lumiere and Foxden both list a lightbox.
- A way to book. Photo Alfa has a Booking page, and Lumiere's pricing cards have Book Now buttons. Check where those buttons lead in the demo. On the HTML and Next.js picks, plan to connect forms to a script or form service yourself.
- Light image files. Export photos at the size they're shown, compress them and save them as WebP. Full-size camera files are the usual reason a portfolio feels slow.

- You want far more designs. Photography is a small shelf on Manob. As of October 2026, ThemeForest's bigger range is the next stop.
- Client delivery is the main job. If clients pick, approve and download photos every week, use a client-gallery service and keep the template as your public portfolio.
