Elementor free vs Pro: what you actually need
Elementor is a plugin, not a theme. The free Elementor plugin on WordPress.org reported more than 10 million active installs on October 13, 2026, and it covers the drag-and-drop editor and core widgets. Elementor Pro adds paid features on top. As of October 2026, Elementor's pricing page showed these yearly plans:

Theme builder vs page builder, and what "Elementor-compatible" means
- Page builder: Elementor's editor designs the content area of individual pages. The free plugin does this.
- Theme builder: designing the parts that repeat across the site, such as the header, footer, blog post template and archive pages. Elementor's own Theme Builder is a Pro feature. Many themes work around that: seven of the eight Dream IT demos here load the free Ultimate Addons for Elementor plugin, which includes a header and footer builder, alongside the seller's own Elementor extension. Theme Wolfs themes use a "core" plugin of their own. Ask how a theme builds its header and footer: if it's through a free plugin, you won't need Pro to change them.
- "Elementor-compatible" on Manob is a compatibility attribute on the listing. Manob has 194 items tagged that way. It tells you the theme's layouts are built for Elementor; it doesn't mean Elementor Pro is included or not needed. Read the theme's required plugins, and open the demo: if it loads Elementor Pro, as AiNext's does, budget for a Pro license or confirm with the seller what works without it.

How we picked these 10
We started from the Elementor-tagged items on Manob whose previews work and picked themes that differ in purpose, preferring ones we haven't featured in other roundups. We opened every demo on October 13, 2026, checked which plugins it loads, and dropped any whose demo didn't match its listing. That ruled out an auction-store theme whose listing promises multi-vendor bidding and vendor dashboards but whose demo shop is a static page with no store or auction plugin.

Manob's product page now calls this Theme Wolfs theme Trexa (its web address still says Webrix). The demo has eight homepages: IT Solution, SaaS & Startup, AI Agency, Software Agency, Marketing Agency, SEO Agency, Cyber Security Agency and AI Robotics. Services, projects and team members have their own detail pages. The demo runs the free Elementor plugin with the theme's core plugin and Contact Form 7, and ran Elementor 4.3.4 when we checked, one point release behind the 4.3.5 that WordPress.org listed later on October 13, 2026. The listing marks it compatible with Elementor Pro, Gravity Forms and WPForms too, but none of those is loaded on the demo.

Its feature list names Elementor Pro, Advanced Custom Fields Pro, Redux and Eden AI, and the demo site loads Elementor Pro and WooCommerce. How to choose an Elementor WordPress theme
- Read the required plugins list. Look for Elementor Pro, ACF Pro or other paid plugins. If they're bundled, ask whether you get your own license key or updates only through the theme.
- Look at the demo's plugin stack. In the demo's page source, plugin folders appear in paths like /wp-content/plugins/elementor-pro/. Fewer plugins usually means less to update.
- Check the Elementor version. The demo's page source has a "generator" tag naming the Elementor version. A demo several releases behind isn't proof the theme is outdated, but it's a fair question for the seller.
- Expect lock-in. Pages built in Elementor stay in Elementor. Switching themes later means rebuilding layouts, so choose with the next few years in mind.
- Test speed on the demo. Elementor sites can get heavy with sliders, animations and preloaders. Turn off what you don't need after import.

When to look elsewhere
- You want a free Elementor theme. Elementor's own Hello Elementor theme is free in the WordPress.org directory, and a WordPress.org search for "elementor" returned 1,498 themes as of October 2026.
- You want a much larger choice. ThemeForest's WordPress search for "elementor" showed 8,186 items as of October 2026.
- You don't want a page builder. A block theme with the built-in editor avoids builder lock-in and an extra plugin.
